Live Arts supports Western Sydney artists to develop new live projects

DELIVERED by Blacktown Arts and Blacktown City Council, Magnify: Live Arts is a multi-form creative development and residency program for early-career Western Sydney artists.
 
Blacktown Arts will support artists with their new live project idea by providing:
 
  • Financial support of up to $5,000.
  • Mentoring by industry guests and the Blacktown Arts team.
  • Nne-week of residency space in Western Sydney in November.
 
The nprogram is open to individuals and groups, the program encourages experimentation, collaboration and connection with fellow residents, guest mentors and the Blacktown Arts team.  
 
Mayor of Blacktown City Brad Bunting said: “Western Sydney is full of talented artists with bold ideas and strong stories to tell.
 
“Magnify: Live Arts gives early-career artists practical support to develop those ideas, work with mentors and create something new here in Blacktown," he said.
 
“I encourage artists from Blacktown and across Western Sydney to apply, whether they are working in performance, dance, music, theatre or another form of live arts.”
 
Creatives across a range of live arts mediums are encouraged to apply. This includes but is not limited to performance, dance, music composition and theatre.
 
The opportunity is open to all Western Sydney artists, with a focus on Blacktown City. 
 
Applications close:  Monday 29 June 2026, 11.59 pm.
