Minister for Small Business and Multiculturalism Steve Kamper WEXPO keynote speaker

NSW Minister for Small Business and Multiculturalism Steve Kamper admires the entrepreneurial drive of migrants and refugees, many of whom have made their home in Western Sydney.
“Western Sydney has the highest concentration of individuals born overseas in NSW and it continues to be the epicentre of population growth,” Mr Kamper said.

“In NSW, almost 30 per cent of the population were born overseas and more than half have at least one parent who was born overseas

“One thing we know of our migrants and refugees is that they are entrepreneurial.”

Mr Kamper said the NSW Government is committed to supporting businesses and has implemented various programs and initiatives to foster entrepreneurship and provide tangible assistance

Mr Kamper will be lunch keynote speaker at the 2023 WEXPO event at Blacktown Workers Club on September 5. Tickets are just $55 and inlcudes a two course meal. Details and bookings HERE

He said he was proud of the support his government has given small businesses.

“We have supported start-ups, women in business, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs and regional businesses, to name a few,” he said.

“Mentoring through services such as Business Connect can also be a great way to help small businesses survive and can be very beneficial for those entrepreneurs from new and emerging communities who have taken the bold steps to start a new enterprise.”

Mr Kamper said the NSW Government was looking to expand on this service by creating the NSW Business Bureau, which will simplify the dealing a company has with Government, and it will assist businesses when they are confronted by a difficult challenge.

“Multicultural NSW is the lead agency in NSW promoting community harmony and social cohesion,” he said..

“As a government we recognise that we can use our cultural diversity as a vehicle to achieve cultural and economic prosperity.”
