COLOUR OF BLACKTOWN FESTIVAL RETURNS

New attractions complement old favourites
COLOURFUL characters, smooth sounds and free fun will be a feature of the 2026 Blacktown City Festival as part of a bumper lineup of 18 events through May.

New attractions including the 90s Bingo Party and Peppa Pig at the Kids Concert will complement traditional favourites the Blacktown City Medieval Fayre, and Streets Alive and Parade Day.

Blacktown City Council’s festival has entertained the community for more than 50 years and become one of the largest community events in Western Sydney.

Blacktown City Mayor Brad Bunting encouraged everyone to come and enjoy the fun.

“The Blacktown City Festival is one of my favourite times of year because of the way we celebrate where we live,” he said.

“Whether it’s the street parade through Blacktown city centre, the swing music at Blacktown Showground or any of the other events, our community loves to enjoy entertainment that is live and local.”

Perfect for picnics; music lovers can enjoy an afternoon of soul, funk and reggae musicians playing by the water at the scenic Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside.

Highlights of the 2026 program include:

Blacktown Festival Comedy Night: Friday 8 May. Blacktown Workers Club. Be prepared to laugh yourself silly as some of Australia’s top comedians entertain in an evening of gags and jokes. Standup veteran Joe Avati will be joined by a stellar supporting cast of Justin Hamilton, Andrew Barnett, Stella Wu and Riv Narak.

Blacktown City Medieval Fayre: Saturday 16 May and Sunday 17 May. Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside. See knights in shining armour, carefully crafted weaponry, a blacksmith and woodturners village and more in this engaging blast from the past.
