BETTER FOUNDATION'S GALA DINNER

Giving generously to local hospitals
ON May 31 Blacktown came out to support the Better Foundation’s fundraising Carnivale Gala Dinner at the Workers Club Blacktown, and helped raise more than $50,000 for Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.
 
More than 500 guests attended the Better Foundation’s Carnivale Gala Dinner focused on raising funds for Blacktown Hospital’s Cardiology Unit will the purchase of new vital medical equipment to provide life-saving treatment to people experiencing heart failure, stroke, and heart attack. 
 
Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening of award-winning internationally acclaimed Australian entertainment including the return of one of Australia’s finest comedians, Tahir as Master of Ceremonies, as well as the world’s fastest Speed Painter, Brad Blaze and multi-award-winning showband, Jellybean Jam and celebrity guest, ABC Media Presenter/Personality, Carole Ferrone. 
 
Stephen Bali MP, State Member for Blacktown and Better Foundation Board Chair thanked sponsors and guests for their support, and keynote speaker, Michelle Rowland MP, Member for Greenway and the Minster for Communications acknowledged “our local healthcare’s amazing work and commitment to the City of Blacktown”. 
 
Dr David Burgess, Head of Cardiology at Blacktown Hospital said: “All the cardiology team here tonight are overwhelmed by everyone’s generous support”.
 
“Our team is dedicated to providing Blacktown and Mount Druitt with world-class cardiology care, and people living their best healthiest lives in Blacktown and Mount Druitt”,  said Dr Burgess.
 
Other highlights of the evening included the live auction of an internationally acclaimed First Nation’s artist, Uncle Danny Eastwood’s Possums painting artwork.
