Demi is a highly respected professional and leader in the Filipino community and successfully swept through the recently concluded Club elections with the highest number of votes. This assures her tenure of office of three consecutive years.
“This win is not only for me but also for the Filipino community,” she said.
For more than a decade, Demi has given her time to the service of the community. In the spirit of volunteerism, she has held executive positions in various community organisations namely: civic, women, cultural and sporting groups.
She was the former VP External and Treasurer of the Philippine Community Council of NSW. She is currently the Business Manager/Treasurer for the Sydney Sonata Singers Inc., Treasurer, Bicol Communities League Inc and PRO/Public Officer for Ateneo Alumni Association of Australia.
In recent years, she has stretched herself outside the community and has joined mainstream organisations.
Her tireless work ethic, social responsibility and commitment have seen her active participation in the Blacktown Workers Women Lawn Bowling Club, the Blacktown City Council Seniors Advisory Committee and the Blacktown Seniors Choir, “Simply Voices”.
The Blacktown Workers Club has grown from its humble beginnings to become one of the largest and successful hospitality and lifestyle organisations in Sydney. It is a favourite of the Filipino community in the west.
With a membership of over 55,000, the club prides itself with a strong sense of community and commits to over $3.5M annually in support of various charitable and sporting clubs.
“This win means being able to serve the wider community and I’m looking forward to it,” said Robinson.
This is also a testimony of her hard work, perseverance and integrity. Demi Robinson is happily married to Leslie Thomas Strong.
