More paramedics and call takers to join NSW Ambulance
NSW Ambulance has welcomed 23 new paramedic interns and 21 trainee emergency medical call takers after they were officially inducted into the service at a sepecial ceremony.

BEATING THE HEAT IN BLACKTOWN CITY
WITH high temperatures expected today Blacktown City Council recommends residents be ready to keep their cool and bet the heat.
- Keep windows and blinds closed during the hottest part of the day.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Have cool packs in the freezer ready to use.
- Keep pets indoors with enough food and water.
- Head to a cool space, such as a local shopping centre or library..
- With more people in the water and out in the sun we all have to remember to be water and sun smart..
Parents should always maintain active supervision of their children when in or around water.
During a hot weather event, Council maintains a responsibility to ensure the safety of Council Workers and others at Council. Measures will in place for the safety of our team.
Residents can also seek relief from the heat in local libraries.

Splash park extended hours.
In response to the hot weather forecast this week Council are extending our splash park hours starting 26 November 2024, through to 28 February 2025.
Splash parks will open daily from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. From 1 December this will extend to 9.00 am to 6.30 pm.
